Today we depart Tamworth, Newcastle, Port Macqurie, Taree and Sydney to begin our epicurean adventure of NSW as we travel to the beautiful Hunter Valley. With sweeping landscapes, restaurants, kangaroos and more than 150 wineries it is the perfect place to begin our adventure.

On arrival we enjoy lunch at leisure and free time to explore the Hunter Valley village. After lunch we visit Moorebank Winery to taste home made jams, sauces and wine. This property is rich in history & character. We enjoy a sunset tasting at Leogate Estate Wines (you may have tried their selection on Qantas Airlines, in the first class cabin). We finish our evening with a wine maker’s dinner in the beautiful barrel room at Domain De Binet. This gourmet meal is sourced locally. To top the night off we enjoy bottling our own port.

Tuesday 22 March 2022 (B,L,D)

We depart the Hunter Valley after breakfast and head south, stopping in at The Hawkesbury River to enjoy a tour on The Riverboat Postman. We enjoy morning tea, a beautiful cruise and lunch.

After lunch we continue to Bowral NSW, where we check into our hotel for the evening. Tonight we experience country hospitality at it’s best with a beautiful local dinner and wine tasting before settling in for the night at Briar’s Country Lodge.

Wednesday 23 March 2022 (B,D)

After breakfast we depart for Griffith, stopping on the way to view the Harden silo art. This artwork by acclaimed Mongolian street artist, Heesco, is a must see when visiting Harden-Murrumburrah.

We continue on to Griffith, and after checking in to our hotel we enjoy a visit to De Bortoli Wines for afternoon tasting & cheese platters. Tonight we enjoy a gourmet dinner with local produce at Limone, an acclaimed restaurant in the Riverina.

Thursday 24 March 2022 (B,L,)

Today we explore the world-class wineries, fresh produce and fascinating heritage of Griffith. Joined by a local guide, we’ll find plenty of cellar doors, delicious local produce and quality restaurants/cafes. Griffith celebrates a rich food and wine culture. We will experience a private cellar tasting at Callabria wines and have the opportunity to try wines that are not normally on offer to the public. We will then venture to Piccolo Family Farm, taking us back to our roots and reconnecting with the earth, family and food.

After a farm tour we pick some of the produce while the chef prepares our gourmet lunch. This afternoon we will taste some amazing gelato and drink more wine as we continue to explore Griffith.

Friday 25 March 2022 (B,L,D)

After breakfast we depart and head for Cowra, visiting the beautiful Japanese Gardens on arrival. You can’t help but feel completely at peace when you walk through the lush gardens and pass the cascading streams. We learn about history of Cowra, where the largest prisoner-of-war breakout in modern military history occurred.

We then enjoy a beautiful lunch paired with local wine at the award winning Quarry restaurant, before continuing on to Orange for a local wine tasting on arrival. After checking into our accommodation at The Remington, we enjoy more local food and specialties at the Union Bank restaurant.

Saturday 26 March 2022 (B,L,D)

This morning we enjoy a champagne breakfast at a funky local grocery and café, the Agrestic Grocer. The shelves at the Agrestic are adorned with regional products and fresh produce. Unwaxed apples, beer soap, free range eggs and local wines are at your fingertips!

After breakfast we head to Mudgee where we enjoy some free time to explore the quaint local shops. We then venture on to Burnbrae Wines for beer & wine tasting. Afterwards we enjoy local gourmet wood fired pizzas and gelato for lunch. We check into our accommodation at the Parklands Resort and enjoy some free time before heading to one of our favourite wineries, Skim Stone Wines for a special event dinner and tasting, a night you will not forget.

Monday 28 March 2022 (B)

Today we head to Gulgong, the home of around 130 National Trust-listed buildings,. Many of these buildings remain complete with their original verandahs and iron-lace balconies. We will see Australia’s oldest operating opera house, the Prince of Wales Opera House, which opened in 1871 (the great Dame Nellie Melba once performed here).

Gold fever struck the region in 1870 when payable gold was found at Red Hill. We learn about the gold rush at the Gulgong Pioneers Museum. We enjoy a cold drink and pub lunch at the historic Prince of Wales hotel before we continue on our journey home.
